What is a household feed mixer?
A household feed mixer is a mixer used for feed processing in households or small farms. Its agitation mechanism evenly mixes multiple feed ingredients and breaks down lumps, preventing nutritional imbalances in a single feed. It is suitable for small herds with small feed requirements, such as poultry (chickens, ducks, geese, etc.) and livestock (pigs, sheep, rabbits, etc.), to meet the daily feed preparation needs of domestic farms. It can mix a variety of household feeds in powdered, granular, or short-fiber forms, including ground grains (such as corn, wheat, and rice), chopped green feed (such as green vegetables, forage grass, and sweet potato vines), residual materials (such as distiller's grains, bean curd dregs, and bran), and premixes containing small amounts of added vitamins and minerals. It is suitable for processing both dry and wet feeds.
Household feed mixers are available in capacities of 50 kg, 100 kg, 200 kg, 500 kg, and 1000 kg. Larger sizes can also be customized to meet the single-batch feed requirements of small-scale household farms. Materials include food-grade stainless steel and carbon steel. Both spiral and helical blades are available, depending on the feed type. For example, spiral blades are preferred for mixing granular or powdered dry materials, as they provide uniform mixing and minimize residue. Paddle blades are more suitable for mixing green wet materials or dregs, as they are less prone to clogging and provide smooth discharge.
What types of household feed mixers are there?
Household feed mixers are available in three models: vertical, horizontal, and flat. You can choose the appropriate model based on the feed type and application. We also provide customized solutions for both materials and specific applications.
Vertical household feed mixers: Compact in size (1-1.5 meters in height), they take up little space and are suitable for confined spaces like balconies and courtyards. They can mix 50-500 kg of feed per batch, using spiral blades to push the feed upwards for mixing.
Horizontal Household Feed Mixer: Featuring a horizontal drum design, it mixes 100-1000kg of feed per batch. Its paddle-type mixer provides more uniform mixing, making it suitable for larger farms. It can mix a variety of concentrate feeds and forages, achieving excellent mixing results. However, it is relatively expensive, has limited construction, and requires careful attention to cutting speed when processing fibrous feeds.
Stainless Steel Flat-Top Household Feed Mixer: Also known as a stainless steel wet and dry feed mixer, it is ideal for small-scale farms. It can mix various mixed pig feeds and chicken and duck feeds. The drum is constructed of 201/304 stainless steel, making it easy to clean and rust-resistant.
What types of feed can be processed with a Household Feed Mixer?
Household Feed Mixers are suitable for processing feed for family farms, small-scale livestock farmers, and small-scale farming communities. They can mix a variety of feed ingredients, including powders, granules, and fibrous dry and wet feeds.
Grains: Corn, wheat, sorghum, rice (whole or crushed), grain seeds, and processing by-products;
Protein: Plant-based protein feeds such as soybean meal, fish meal, bone meal, soybean cake, and cake meal;
Crude fiber: Straw powder, peanut vines, vegetable leaves, forage grass, hay, agricultural by-products (wormwood stalks, husks), and tree leaves;
Additives: Vitamins, minerals, probiotics, and other trace ingredients, ensuring uniform mixing and no waste.
What are the advantages of a house feed mixer?
A house feed mixer is designed specifically for home and small-scale farmers. It can evenly mix a variety of feed ingredients with different ingredients and proportions in a short time (usually 5-15 minutes) to ensure consistent nutrient distribution. It replaces 2-3 hours of manual labor, saving significant time daily. It can mix a variety of feed types, including pellets (such as corn and wheat), powders, grass, and wet feed. An internal overload protection device ensures safety during extended operation. Universal wheels can be installed on the bottom of the mixer as needed for easy mobility.
How does a house feed mixer work?
When the Household Feed Mixer is operating, the motor drives the mixing shaft to rotate. The spiral blades or paddles push the feed from both ends toward the center, shearing, turning, and pushing the feed. This ensures that raw materials of varying densities and particle sizes are thoroughly mixed within the drum, ultimately forming a uniform mixed feed.
