Spice Crusher
Spice Crusher is a machine used to crush hard, dry spices into small granules or powder. It is made of 304 stainless steel to ensure the purity of the spices, and its price ranges from $500 to $5500.
Grinding mesh: 20-2000 mesh
Processing capacity: 50-500 kg/hour
Power: 7.5-11kW
What is Spice Crusher?
Spice Crusher is a machine that can pulverize spices of different hardness and shape, such as pepper, star anise, and cinnamon. It uses rapidly rotating blades to turn large pieces of spices into fine powder, thus bringing out the flavor and aroma of the spices and providing a basis for subsequent processing and use. The pulverization fineness is 20-2000 mesh, and the pulverization capacity can reach 500 kg.

Made of 304 stainless steel, the Spice Crusher offers high cleanliness and can be used in home kitchens, restaurant kitchens, and the food processing industry to grind different types of spices. Types available include claw, hammer, low-temperature, and ultra-fine grinding.
What are the categories of Spice Crusher?
Spice crusher can be categorized into several types, including household, toothed/hammer-blade, ultrafine, and low-temperature models. The appropriate model can be selected based on the type of spices being pulverized and the intended use.

Household Spice Crusher: Small in size, easy to operate, and can pulverize tens of grams of spices at a time, suitable for home kitchens for immediate use.
Toothed/Hammer-blade Spice Crusher: Uses rotating toothed blades or a hammer to pulverize spices, suitable for restaurant kitchens and small processing plants for processing dry, brittle spices. The pulverization fineness is adjustable from 20-500 mesh.
Ultrafine Spice Crusher: Can pulverize spices into ultrafine powder, up to 2000 mesh (5μm), with a high cell wall breakage rate. Suitable for high-value-added spice processing requiring high fineness, such as traditional Chinese medicine, heat-sensitive chili peppers, and volatile essential oils like herbs.
Low-temperature Spice Crusher: It is equipped with a -35°C freezing system, which pulverizes spices at extremely low temperatures. This solves the problem of heat loss during the pulverization process of heat-sensitive spices, thus preserving the original flavor of the spices.
What are the advantages of Spice Crusher?
The Spice Crusher is made of 304 stainless steel, ensuring cleanliness and hygiene, and meeting the standards for spice processing. Driven by a motor, the blades pulverize spices in just 3 minutes, with adjustable fineness ranging from 20 mesh coarse particles to 2000 mesh ultrafine powder, suitable for various spice processing applications. For spices prone to spoilage during high-temperature pulverization, low-temperature pulverization using water circulation cooling or mechanical refrigeration can be employed to preserve the original flavor. For spices that generate significant dust during pulverization, a bag filter system can be installed to collect dust, preventing waste and achieving a dust removal rate of >99%. Furthermore, the type of pulverizing blades and machine size can be customized.

How does Spice Crusher work?
Spice Crusher pulverizes spices through impact, shearing, and grinding. After the crusher starts, the motor drives the high-speed rotating hammers, toothed discs, or blades inside, generating strong centrifugal and impact forces. Lumps and granules of spices enter the crushing chamber through the feed inlet, where they are first violently struck by the high-speed hammers, initially breaking up large pieces. Subsequently, the material continuously collides and rubs against the toothed plates and inner walls within the chamber, while simultaneously being sheared by the moving and stationary blades, gradually being refined into fine powder. The chamber is equipped with a screen; powder that reaches the specified fineness passes through the screen and falls into the discharge outlet, while material that does not meet the standard continues to be pulverized repeatedly within the chamber.

How effective is spice crushing?

| Spice type | Grinding particle size (mesh) | Main application scenarios | Technical features |
| Chili | 20-60 mesh | Chili sauce, hot pot base | Coarsely crushed to maintain fiber structure |
| 60-120 mesh | Chili powder, seasoning | Fine grinding improves flavor uniformity | |
| 200-500 mesh | Chili essence extraction, medical application | Ultrafine grinding improves bioavailability | |
| Zanthoxylum | 40-80 mesh | Seasoning | Retain complete numbing substances |
| 100-200 mesh | High-end food/health products | Enhance the release rate of numbing flavor | |
| Star anise/cinnamon | 60-100 mesh | Meat stew, marinade bag | Control particle size to maintain aroma persistence |
| Ultrafine grinding | Essential oil extraction, functional food | Increase the dissolution rate of effective ingredients (+30%) | |
| Compound spices | Customized particle size | Pre-prepared food seasoning, convenience food | Special blade design ensures mixing uniformity of >98% |
