What is a Chain Conveyor?
Chain conveyors are the "main force" in the paper industry for transporting various heavy and bulk materials. With their robustness, durability, and smooth operation, they play a crucial role in connecting different processes and ensuring a continuous supply of materials on the production line.

What are the uses of chain conveyors?
In paper mills, chain conveyors are mainly used to solve the problem of handling heavy materials, serving as the plant's "logistics artery":
Pulp and Waste Paper Conveying: Efficiently transports bales of commercial pulp or bulk waste paper raw materials from warehouses or unloading points to the pulping production line.
Wood Chip and Fuel Conveying: In some plants, they are also used to transport wood chips from the woodworking section or to transport bark, sawdust, and other fuels needed for biomass boilers.
Roll Paper Conveying: In packaging or processing workshops, dedicated V-type chain conveyors can stably transport finished rolls of paper, preventing them from rolling during transport.
Its working principle can be summarized as "chain drive, plate bearing," forming a robust "mobile platform":
Power and Transmission: The equipment is driven by a motor, which, after being reduced in speed by a reducer, transmits power to the drive sprocket. The sprocket meshes with two (or more) closed traction chains to achieve smooth transmission. This chain drive method ensures that slippage will not occur during operation.
Bearing and Conveying: Between two chains, each chain link is fixed with a chain plate made of metal or plastic. These chain plates overlap or adhere tightly to each other, forming a continuous, flat bearing surface. When the chain is driven, the chain plates move accordingly, thereby bearing and conveying the material placed on them.
Path Control: The material moves with the chain plates and can be conveyed horizontally or at an inclination of no more than 30°, realizing the transfer of material at different heights and positions.
What are the Advantages of Chain Plate Conveyors?
Chain plate conveyors are widely used in heavy industrial settings such as paper mills because they have the following significant advantages:
