LZ Series Heavy Impurity Separator
What is the LZ Series Heavy Impurity Separator?
The heavy impurity separator is mainly used to remove heavy impurities such as sand, iron filings, and fiber bundles from various pulps, as well as some lighter impurities such as larger ink particles, dust, foam, and plastics. The heavy impurity separator is a crucial "purification guardian" on the paper pulping line.
What are the uses of the LZ series heavy impurity separator?
Its core task is very clear: to protect downstream equipment and improve pulp purity.
Its working principle is a classic physical separation process, utilizing centrifugal force and density difference. The entire process is completed at high speed within a smooth conical tube:
Vortex Generation: The diluted pulp is pumped into the separator at high speed tangentially under pressure, and the pulp flow immediately generates intense rotational motion within the cone.
Centrifugal Separation: Under the powerful centrifugal force, substances with different densities quickly separate: Heavy impurities (such as sand and metal filings): Much heavier than fibers, they are thrown towards the wall of the separator by the enormous centrifugal force. Under the influence of gravity, these impurities spiral downwards along the inner wall of the cone and are eventually discharged from the bottom outlet.
Good pulp (pulp fibers): Lighter in density, these fibers gather in the lower-pressure central area, forming an upward vortex, and eventually flow out from the top outlet to the next process.
What are the advantages of the LZ series heavy impurity separator?
Safeguarding equipment safety: As the "frontline soldier," it efficiently removes hard impurities such as sand, staples, and metal particles, effectively protecting subsequent pressure screens, refiners, and even the paper machine wire from wear and damage. It is an indispensable "safety guardian" for the entire production line.
Improving paper quality: By removing these dust-like impurities, it significantly reduces the dust content of the final paper, resulting in a cleaner surface and higher whiteness, which is crucial for producing cultural paper and high-grade paper.
Energy saving and high efficiency: The equipment has no moving parts, a simple structure, and extremely low maintenance costs. Optimized design, such as "snail-shaped" feed or the use of wear-resistant ceramic linings, not only can pressure loss be reduced (energy saving), but equipment lifespan can also be significantly extended.
Reduce fiber loss: Modern heavy impurity separators are typically equipped with a slurry regulator, secondary separation chamber, or balancing water device. These designs allow mistakenly carried fibers to return to the central good pulp stream, allowing only true impurities to be discharged, minimizing the waste of good fibers.
Flexible system combination: Multiple separators can be connected in parallel or series to form a group, depending on the pulp conditions and production requirements, flexibly constructing a highly efficient purification station.
