What's the situation with chemical powder screening machine manufacturers?Many chemical powder screening machine manufacturers on the market only offer standard screening machines, limiting their choices in materials and number of layers. So, how should one choose among the three common materials: carbon steel, stainless steel, and plastic?

How to Choose the Material for a Screening Machine?
First, consider whether the chemical powder being processed is corrosive. If it's non-corrosive, or just dry, ordinary powders such as some mineral powders or coarse-grained resins, a carbon steel screening machine is the most economical. It has a painted surface for protection, resulting in low cost. However, carbon steel is susceptible to rust, and once the paint is damaged, it cannot be used in humid or acidic/alkaline environments. For most chemical powders, such as titanium dioxide, dyes, and common fertilizers, 304 stainless steel is sufficient, as it is resistant to weak acids and alkalis and offers good value. If dealing with highly corrosive materials, such as ammonium chloride or chloride-containing salt powders, 316L stainless steel should be used, or a PP plastic screening machine can be chosen. Plastic is resistant to all acids and alkalis and will not cause metal contamination, making it suitable for high-purity materials. However, plastic has lower strength than metal, and the screen diameter is usually no more than one meter. In summary, use carbon steel for non-corrosive materials, 304 stainless steel for moderately corrosive materials, and 316L stainless steel or plastic for highly corrosive materials or those susceptible to metal contamination. After determining the material, the next step is to consider the motor. Some chemical powders require an explosion-proof vibrating motor for screening.



When is an explosion-proof motor required?
If the chemical powder being processed is sensitive to static electricity or sparks, an explosion-proof vibration motor is recommended. These motors have clear explosion-proof markings, high-sealing junction boxes, and effectively meet relevant production specifications. Simultaneously, the entire machine should be properly grounded, and anti-static materials should be used for the seals. The factory should be well-ventilated. You can request an explosion-proof motor during procurement, and we will deliver according to the standard configuration. Even after resolving the motor configuration issue, screen clogging may still occur during the screening process.

What to do if the screen gets clogged during chemical powder sieving?
Ultra-fine chemical powders are prone to static electricity or moisture absorption, leading to screen clogging and affecting sieving efficiency. An ultrasonic system can be installed, using high-frequency vibration to break the surface tension of the powder, allowing particles to pass through smoothly. For chemical powders with a mesh size of 200 or smaller, a spring ball screen cleaning device is sufficient. During sieving, the spring balls bounce and impact the screen, effectively reducing clogging. If the material is easily hygroscopic or carries static electricity, it can be dried before sieving.
